Kenya Power (KPLC) has scheduled power interruptions in parts of 11 counties on Thursday to allow for essential system maintenance. The outages will occur between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM in different areas.

The affected counties are: Nairobi, Machakos, Kiambu, Murang’a, Mombasa, Marsabit, Tharaka Nithi, Nyeri, Meru, Kakamega, and Vihiga.

Nairobi Power Cuts

Power interruptions in Nairobi will be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Affected areas include:

  • Murang'a Road, Gurunanak Hospital, Pangani Police, Juja Road, Radiant Hospital, North View Road, Strawberry, and adjacent customers.
  • Mbagathi Road, Akila Estates, Miller East, Civil Servant East, Hamayun, Akiba East, Muslim Academy, Kinder World, Airport View East, White Star Academy, Bible Society, part of Langata Road, AP Camp Mbagathi Road, Kwetu Hostels, Strathmore College, and adjacent customers.

Machakos

Power cuts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM will affect:

Makutano Mwala, Mwala, Kivandini, Mhiuni, Ghetoo, Wamunyu, Yathui, Ikalaasa, Tulila, Miondoni, Syokisinga, Katangi, Ikombe, Kenyaata, Seku University, and Kyua.

Kakamega

Power outages from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM will impact:

Igukhu Hospital, Makhokho, Khaega, and adjacent customers.

Vihiga

Scheduled interruptions from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM include:

Shell Petrol Luanda, Maseno Police, Sunrise, Maseno Ekwanda, Maseno Sunga, Holo, Magwar, Em-aloba, Khiliba, Maseno Depo, and Bishop Olang.
