The government is set to roll out the second phase of the NYOTA Project business funding programme, targeting thousands of youth entrepreneurs across 27 counties nationwide

The disbursement will run from January 8 to January 16, 2026, covering beneficiaries who successfully completed NYOTA’s mandatory three-day business skills training.

Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Trans-Nzoia, Turkana, West Pokot, Nakuru, Narok, Bomet, Kericho, Baringo, Laikipia, Isiolo, Samburu, Nyeri, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Nairobi, Kiambu, and Kajiado.

  • January 8 – Eldoret: Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Trans-Nzoia, Turkana, West Pokot

  • January 9 – Nakuru: Nakuru, Narok, Bomet, Kericho, Baringo

Youth Mentorship & Business Support

Beyond financial support, NYOTA beneficiaries will undergo:

  • Two-month structured mentorship

  • Guidance from local entrepreneurs and business experts

  • Support integrating into market ecosystems

  • Second phase business development training ahead of the next grant tranche

Beneficiaries are required to use the grants strictly according to their approved business plans.

Phase Three Counties

The government announced that Phase 3 will cover:
Kilifi, Lamu, Tana River, Mombasa, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, Migori, Nyamira, Kisii, Marsabit, Garissa, Mandera, and Wajir — with dates to be communicated.

The first rollout benefited 12,155 young people, disbursing over Ksh 303 million
